  • Thermal cycling stability and thermal conductivity of three nanofluid ice slurries were studied.
  • Microscopic mechanisms of thermal cycling stability of the nanofluids were studied.
  • Stability of nanofluids decreases gradually, and tends to be stable after 6 cycles.
  • A novel thermal conductivity model considering thermal cycling times was proposed.
